Auger scores three times as the Storm edge the Whalers 5-4

GUELPH, Ont. - Justin Auger scored three times, including the winner, as the Guelph Storm defeated the visting Plymouth Whalers 5-4 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

With just five seconds remaining in the third period, Auger broke a 4-4 tie with his third goal of the game.

Andrey Pedan and Jason Dickinson also scored for the Storm (4-2-0) while Ryan Horvat and Patrick Waitling each chipped in with two assists.

Stefan Noesen led the Whalers (1-1-2) offensively with a goal and an assist as Cody Payne, Rickard Rakell and Gianluca Curcuruto each scored once.

Garret Sparks stopped 29 shots for the win as Matt Mahalak made 25 saves in a losing effort.

Guelph went 0-for-7 on the power play while Plymouth went 2-for-5.
