QMJHL Roundup: A look at Friday's games

Brett Andrew's shorthanded goal at 14:06 of the third period was the difference as the Halifax Mooseheads edged the host Saint John Sea Dogs 4-3 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Jonathan Drouin led the Mooseheads (5-1-0) offensively with a goal and as assist while Andrew Ryan and Martin Frk scored a goal apiece.

Jonathan Huberdeau and Olivier Leblanc each had a goal and as assist for the Sea Dogs (4-2-0), who lost for their first time in five outings, and Jurij Repe added a single goal.

Chris Clarke made 31 saves for the victory as Sebastien Auger stopped 43-of-47 shots in a losing effort.

Both clubs went 1-for-5 on the power play.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Quebec 4, Victoriaville 3 (OT); Baie-Comeau 5, Acadie-Bathurst 2; Blainville-Boisbriand 6, P.E.I. 2; Chicoutimi 1, Moncton 0; Shawinigan 4, Drummondville 3; Gatineau 7, Sherbrooke 4 and Cape Breton 4, Rouyn-Noranda 3.

At Saint John, N.B., Repe opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 8:19 of the first period.

Drouin responded for Halifax 13 seconds into the second period to tie the game 1-1.

Huberdeau regained the lead for the Sea Dogs at 5:51, but Frk scored on the power play at 16:12 to make it 2-2 after 40 minutes of play.

Leblanc gave Saint John its third lead of the game when he scored 2:34 into the third period.

The lead didn't last long, though, as Ryan tied the game less than two minutes later.

Andrews gave the Mooseheads their first lead when he scored the eventual winner at 14:06.

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Valentin Zykov had a hat trick and Simon Lemieux stopped 25 shots as the Drakkar (3-2-0) defeated Acadie-Bathurst (3-3-1).

At Boisbriand, Que., Christopher Clapperton scored three times and Etienne Marcoux turned away 20 shots as the Armada (5-0-1) beat P.E.I. (3-2-0).

Sagueneens 1 Wildcats 0

At Saguenay, Que., Francis Desrosiers made 30 saves and Guillaume Asselin scored late in the third period as Chicoutimi (3-3-1) blanked Moncton (2-4-0).

At Drummondville, Que., Jonathan Narbonne's power-play goal at 14:55 of the third period stood up as the game winner as Shawinigan (2-2-1) edged the Voltiguers (3-3-0).

At Gatineau, Que., Adam Chapman scored three times as the Olympiques (2-4-0) kept Sherbrooke from picking up its first win of the season (0-7-0).

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Alexandre Lavoie scored once and set up two more as Cape Breton (1-3-3) defeated the Huskies (5-2-0)
