Blandisi scores twice, Binnington stops 30 shots as Attack beat Sting 4-3

SARNIA, Ont. - Joseph Blandisi scored twice and Jordan Binnington made 30 saves as the Owen Sound Attack edged the Sarnia Sting 4-3 on Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Holden Cook and Cameron Brace also scored for the Attack (4-1-1), who lead the Midwest Division, while Gemel Smith chipped in two assists.

Brace, who leads his club in points with 10, including five goals, snapped a 3-3 just 11 seconds into the third period with what stood up to be the game winner.

Alex Galchenyuk had a goal and an assist for the Sting (1-3-1), who lost for the fourth time in their first five games, and Charlie Sarault and Nick Latta scored a goal apiece.

JP Anderson stopped 26 shots in a losing effort.

The Sting finished the game on a 6-on-4 power play but were unable to get the game-tying goal.

Both teams struggled on the power play as Owen Sound was 0-for-2, while the Sting scored once on seven opportunities with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
