Festarini with 25 saves as the IceDogs blank the Spirit 4-0

SAGINAW, Mich. - Christopher Festarini stopped all 25 shots he faced as the Niagara IceDogs blanked the host Saginaw Spirit 4-0 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Festarini is now a perfect 5-0-0 and he lowered his goals-against average to 1.91.

Anthony DiFruscia had a goal and an assist and Shayne Rover contributed a pair of assists for the IceDogs. (5-1-0).

Mike Robinson, Brook Hiddink and Steven Shipley rounded out Niagara's offence with a goal apiece.

Jake Paterson made 42 saves in a losing effort for the Spirit (1-3-2).

The IceDogs were 1-for-9 on the power play while Saginaw went 0-for-3.

Niagara dominated play in the first period by a wide margin, outshooting the Spirit 16-6, but Paterson stopped every shot to keep the game scoreless after one.

Saginaw was not so lucky in the second period as the IceDogs broke the game wide open scoring three goals.

Robinson opened the scoring at 3:31, followed by DiFruscia at 7:39 and Hiddink at 19:08.

Shipley added a power-play goal in the third period.

We're certainly happy we got the win, but we feel we have a long way to go obviously. We're going take another step in San Jose and it is going to be a tough one.
