Chara signs contract with Czech squad

Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara has signed a deal with a team in the Czech Republic, his agent told Comcast SportsNet New England.

The defenseman could be playing as soon as this weekend for the KHL's HC Lev Prague, which also boasts fellow NHL players Jiri Hudler and Jakub Voracek.

The 35-year-old had 12 goals and 40 assists in 79 games with the Bruins last season.
