CRANBROOK, B.C. - Russel Maxwell scored twice and set up two more as the Lethbridge Hurricanes defeated the host Kootenay Ice 4-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.
Daniel Johnston had a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes (2-2-0) while Jaimen Yakubowski added a single goal.
Jagger Dirk and Brock Montgomery scored for the Ice (1-3-0).
Ty Rimmer made 16 saves for the victory as Wyatt Hoflin stopped 25 shots in a losing effort.
Lethbridge found success with its power play as they went 3-for-7 while Kootenay went 1-for-2.
The two clubs combined for 90 minutes in penalties in the third period. Maxwell and Kootenay's Erik Benoit both earned game misconducts for being part of a second fight on the same stoppage of play.
