Lanigan makes 31 saves, Pouliot scores as the Winterhawks blank the Rockets 1-0

PORTLAND, Ore. - Cam Lanigan stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Portland Winterhawks blanked the visiting Kelowna Rockets 1-0 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Derrick Pouliot's goal at 9:50 of the third period stood up as the winner for the Winterhawks (3-1-0), while Taylor Peters picked up the lone assist.

Rockets' (0-2-1) goaltender Jordon Cooke stopped 34-of-35 shots in a losing effort.

Portland went 1 for 8 on the power play while Kelowna failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.
