Percy scores in regulation and in shootout as the Steelheads down the Spitfires

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Stuart Percy scored once in regulation and again in the shootout as the Mississauga Steelheads edged the visiting Windsor Spitfires 3-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Riley Brace scored the shootout winner while Windsor's Josh Ho-Sang also registered a shootout goal.

Josh Burnside scored for the Steelheads (2-1-0) in the first period.

Jordan Maletta and Brady Vail each scored for the Spitfires (2-1-1). Vail's goal came with just 50 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game 2-2 and force overtime.

Spencer Martin stopped 35 shots for the victory as Jordan DeKort made 32 saves in a losing effort.

The Steelheads went 1 for 5 with the man advantage and the Spitfires finished 2 for 6.

We've got a young group. They've played some unreal hockey here to get us this far, and we showed if we're not going to play the proper way, a really, really good hockey team is going to beat you, and that's what they did.
