Tri-City Americans roll Everett Silvertips 3-1 with three straight goals

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Tri-City scored three unanswered goals on Thursday as the Americans for a 3-1 win over the Everett Silvertips in Western Hockey League action.

Brian Williams and Malte Stromwall had power-play goals for Tri-City (1-2-0), while Justin Feser added an empty-net goal. Eric Comrie made 28 saves for the win.

"Winning is the best feeling in the world," said Comrie. "Everyone comes together. You could tell before the game everyone was excited for this. That's what got us this win."

Manraj Hayer was the lone scorer for Everett (0-2-1) and Austin Lotz stopped 33 shots.

The Americans were 2-for-6 on the power play, while the Silvertips went 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Hayer had a short-handed goal just over two minutes into the game.

Williams tied the game 1-1, then Stromwall scored in the second and Feser added the insurance goal with four seconds left to play.

Quote of the Day

He seemed to thrive on his own and didn't really need any push from me. I certainly don't want to get in the way of the coaches. You see how that goes sometimes. I never really worried about it and just enjoyed the ride.
