Chris Marchese has pair of goals in Spitfires 4-2 win over Rangers

WINDSOR, Ont. - Chris Marchese struck twice as the Windsor Spitfires dropped the Kitchener Rangers 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League play Thursday.

Derek Schoenmakers also scored for Windsor (2-1-0), while Michael Clarke put the puck into the empty net. Jaroslav Pavelka made 29 saves for the win.

Tobias Rieder and Brent Pedersen supplied the offence for Kitchener (2-1-0), while Franky Palazzese stopped 33 shots.

Marchese's second goal — with 44 seconds left to play — was the winner for the Spitfires.

Windsor went 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Rangers were 2-for-4.

Quote of the Day

It's pretty crazy, but believe me when I say we didn't draft these players with the mindset we had to because they had good hockey-playing dads. It just turned out that way. But we're certainly glad they're a part of our organization.
