Dansk makes 47 saves to lead Erie Otters over Peterborough Petes 5-1

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Oscar Dansk made 47 saves to lead the Erie Otters to a 5-1 road win over the Peterborough Petes in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Stephen Harper scored twice to lead Erie, while Jake Evans, Nick Betz and Travis Wood each scored for the Otters (1-2-0).

Trevor Murphy scored the only goal for Peterborough (1-2-0), which outshot Erie 48-30 but couldn't solve Dansk.

Harper's first came on the power play and the second at even strength four minutes apart in the middle of the first period.

Evans connected 35 seconds after Harper's second goal to give Erie a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The Otters got the only goal of the second period when Betz buried one with 15 seconds to go in the frame.

Murphy snuck in from the point to tap home a back door pass for Peterborough at the 2:45 mark of the third.

Wood rounded out the scoring, banging a big rebound into the open net in the final minute of the game.

Peterborough went 0-for-8 on the power play, including three two-man advantages.

Quote of the Day

For our team, as a group, we've never been this far before, and so it's just more lessons learned, and sometimes you have to go to the school of hard knocks to find out what works and what doesn't. We've got a young group. They've played some unreal hockey here to get us this far, and we showed if we're not going to play the proper way, a really, really good hockey team is going to beat you, and that's what they did. It's a lesson learned.
