SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Morgan Klimchuk's second goal Wednesday lifted the Regina Pats to a 4-3 overtime win over the host Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action.
Klimchuk scored 2:09 into overtime to complete the comeback win as Regina (1-2-0)erased a 3-0 first period deficit for its first win of the season.
Trent Ouellette had scored with 5:05 remaining to tie the game and force the extra period.
Swift Current (1-0-2) outshot Regina 23-7 in the first period and got goals from Josh Derko, Zac Mackay, and Justin Spagrud to lead 3-0 after 20 minutes of play.
Derko and Spagrud scored on the power play as Swift Current finished 2-for-5 with the man advantage.
Lane Scheidl and Klimchuk scored second-period goals to get the Pats back in the game. Klimchuk's first goal came on the power play as Regina finished 1-for-3 with the extra man.
Matt Hewitt made 38 saves for the win, while Eetu Laurikainen stopped 20 of 24 shots.
