OHL Roundup: A look at Sunday's games

Seth Griffith is doing his best to prove that last season's offensive production wasn't just a lucky year.

The 19-year-old winger scored twice and setup one more as the London Knights crushed the host Guelph Storm 8-2 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.

Griffith already has five goals in just two games this season after leading London in scoring last year with 45 goals.

Matt Rupert also scored two goals for the Knights (2-0-0) while Tommy Hughes, Alex Broadhurst and Brett Welychka had a goal and an assist each.

Ryan Rupert had four assists and Max Domi and Josh Anderson picked up two apiece.

Remi Elie rounded out London's scoring with a single goal.

Matt Finn and Jason Dickinson scored for the Storm (1-1-0), who after the first period were leading 2-1 before giving up seven straight goals.

Kevin Bailie stopped 28 shots for the victory as Garret Sparks allowed eight goals on 40 shots against.

London went 2 for 6 on the power play while Guelph scored once on eight chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Mississauga 3, Barrie 2; Kitchener 3, Sarnia 2 (SO) and Sudbury 4, Brampton 1.

At Guelph, Ont., Dickinson opened the scoring for the Storm just 1:40 into the first period.

Griffith responded for London at 10:11, but Finn scored on the power play at 14:04 to give Guelph a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of play.

The Knights scored four times in the second period to give them a three-goal lead heading into the final period.

Matt Rupert tied the game 12 seconds into the second period and Hughes gave them their first lead at 4:17.

Elie added a goal at 12:13 and Matt Rupert scored his second of the game on the power play at 14:34.

Welychka and Broadhurst scored 18 seconds apart in the third period for London and Griffith capped off the Knights' offence with his second of the game at 15:16, by way of the power play.

At Mississauga, Ont., Riley Brace scored the game-winning goal and added an assist while Tyson Teichmann stopped 23 shots as the Steelheads (1-1-0) edged Barrie (1-2-0).

Rangers 3 Sting 2 (SO)

At Sarnia, Ont., Matt Puempel scored twice in regulation and once more in the shootout as Kitchener (2-0-0) defeated the Sting (0-1-1).

Wolves 4 Battalion 1

At Sudbury, Ont., Nathan Pancel scored twice and Joel Vienneau made 30 saves as the Wolves (2-0-0) downed Brampton (0-1-1).
