Bjorkstrand scores twice as the Winterhawks defeat the Thunderbirds 5-2

KENT, Wash. - Oliver Bjorkstrand scored twice and setup one more as the Portland Winterhawks defeated the host Seattle Thunderbirds 6-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Nicolas Petan had a goal and three assists for the Winterhawks (1-1-0) and Chase De Leo, Adam De Champlain and Derrick Pouliot added a goal apiece.

Seth Swenson and Jesse Forsberg scored for the Thunderbirds (1-1-0) while Riley Sheen picked up an assist on both of his club's goals.

Cam Lanigan made 23 saves for the win as Brandon Glover allowed five goals on 41 shots before leaving the game in the third period.

Justin Myles stopped 2-of-3 shots in relief.

Portland went 0 for 5 on the power play while Seattle went 1 for 4.
