Needham scores winner as the Blazers down the Rockets 3-2

KELOWNA, B.C. - Matt Needham scored the winning goal with 33 seconds remaining in the third period as the Kamloops Blazers defeated the host Kelowna Rockets 3-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Dylan Willick and Brendan Ranford also scored for the Blazers (2-0-0), who were down 2-0 heading into the third period.

Zach Franko and Filip Vasko scored for the Rockets (0-1-1).

Kamloop's back-up goalie, Taran Kozun, stopped 27 shots for the win as Jordon Cooke made 27 saves in a losing effort.

Kamloops went 1 for 2 on the power play while Kelowna failed to score on their only opportunity with the man advantage.
