MacVeigh scores twice on the power play as the Raiders down the Blades 5-2

SASKATOON - Logan McVeigh scored two power-play goals as the Prince Albert Raiders downed the host Saskatoon Blades 5-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Jonas Knutsen, Sawyer Lange and Antoine Corbin also scored for the Raiders (1-0-1) and Josh Morrissey chipped in with three assists.

Brenden Walker and Darren Dietz scored for the Blades (1-1-0).

Goaltender Luke Siemens made 28 saves for the win as Saskatoon's netminder, Andrey Makarov, turned away 25-of-30 shots in a losing effort.

Prince Albert went 4 for 12 on the power play while Saskatoon went 2 for 6.

For me, it's a great win for our hockey team and for a lot of people back in Columbus, especially our fans in particular … people who have been devoted to this organization, it's big.
