MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Adam Lowry scored three times, including a pair of special-team goals, as the Swift Current Broncos defeated the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors 7-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Lowry scored a shorthanded goal in the first period, a power-play goal in the second period and an even-strength goal in the third period to complete his hat trick.

Coda Gordon had a goal and two assists for the Broncos (1-0-1) and Colby Cave, Ryon Moser and Josh Derko added single goals.

Morgan Rielly had the Warriors' (1-1-0) lone goal.

Swift Current goaltender Eetu Laurikainen earned his first WHL victory with 26 saves.

Moose Jaw goaltender Justin Paulic gave up five goals on 19 shots before being replaced by rookie Daniel Wapple. Appearing in his first WHL contest, Wapple allowed two goals on 13 shots against.

Swift Current went 2 for 5 on the power play while Moose Jaw scored once on five chances with the man advantage.

Once again, it shows character in this dressing room. Once again, there's no quitting in here. We all wanted this so bad and we worked so hard to get home-ice advantage and we weren't going to let this one slide.
