PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - Matej Stansky scored the shootout winner as the Saskatoon Blades edged the host Prince Albert Raiders 2-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Christian Stockl scored in regulation for the Blades (1-0-0).
Antoine Corbin scored for the Raiders (0-0-1).
Saskatoon's Andrey Makarov made 40 saves for the win while Prince Albert's Luke Siemens turned away 39 of 40 shots in a losing effort.
There were no power play goals as both teams combined to go 0 for 10.
Saskatoon and Prince Albert face off again on Saturday at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon.
