BRAMPTON, Ont. - Steven Shipley scored the only shootout goal as the Niagara IceDogs edged the host Brampton Battalion 2-1 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Anthony DiFruscia scored in regulation time for the IceDogs (2-0-0), who were coming off a 4-2 win on Thursday night against the Erie Otters.
Spencer Abraham scored the lone goal for the Battalion (0-0-1).
Niagara goaltender Chris Festarini made 33 saves for the win while Brampton's Matej Machovsky stopped 17 shots in a losing effort.
Niagara failed to score on either of its power-play opportunities as Brampton went 1 for 5.
