Predators sign Klein to 5-year contract

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Nashville Predators signed defenseman Kevin Klein to a five-year, $14.5 million contract Saturday.

The 27-year-old Klein had four goals and 17 assists in 66 regular-season games last season, and added two goals and two assists in 10 playoff games. In 309 career games, he has 12 goals and 53 assists.

Quote of the Day

He's, believe it or not, actually one of my favorite guys, and I've ended up trading him twice. I appreciate what he's done. He was one year away from being an unrestricted free agent, and I felt with this opportunity, that it was a chance that we were able to get somebody for him in Nick Bonino and Adam Clendening.
