Panthers cancel rookie tournament
The Florida Panthers have canceled what would have been their third annual rookie camp and tournament.

The Florida Panthers have canceled what would have been their third annual rookie camp and tournament.

The camp, according to the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel, was to include rookies from the Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins and was to be held from Sept. 15-19 at Saveology.com Iceplex. The tournament included the Panthers, Nashville Predators and Lightning last year.

The Detroit Red Wings last week canceled their annual rookie prospect tournament traditionally held in Traverse City, Mich.

The Panthers announced that the camp was canceled, "due to the uncertainty surrounding the CBA." The current Collective Bargaining Agreement expires on Sept. 15. Negotiations on a new CBA will resume Tuesday in New York.
