Fisher, Predators agree to two-year extension
The Nashville Predators have signed forward Mike Fisher to a two-year extension.

Mike Fisher signed a two-year contract extension Monday with the Nashville Predators, the team announced at its annual "Skate of the Union" town hall-style meeting.

The deal is for $8.4 million, or $4.2 million per season. Fisher would have been an unrestricted free agent after the 2012-13 campaign.

"The offseason was very busy and we were able to accomplish most of our goals," general manager David Poile said, according to The Tennesseean. "Signing Mike Fisher to a contract extension obviously is a big plus as we move forward to keeping our team intact."

Fisher, acquired from the Ottawa Senators before the 2011 trade deadline, had 24 goals and 51 points in his first full season with the Predators. He has 196 goals and 411 points in 774 career games.
