The Vancouver Canucks signed first-round pick Brendan Gaunce, the team announced Monday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gaunce, who was selected at No. 26 in the NHL Draft this June, recorded 68 points (28 goals, 40 assists) and added 68 penalty minutes in 68 games with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League in 2011-12.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound center represented Team Canada at the 2011 U-18 World Junior Championship, where he collected four points (one goal, three assists) in seven games, helping Canada win the bronze medal.

We're certainly happy we got the win, but we feel we have a long way to go obviously. We're going take another step in San Jose and it is going to be a tough one.

— Los Angeles Kings forward Justin Williams said after his team's Game 4 win vs. the San Jose Sharks
