The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Thursday they have signed 2011 first-round draft pick Tyler Biggs to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The 19-year-old right wing played last season for Miami (Ohio) University, getting nine goals and eight assists with 63 penalty minutes in 37 games.

The Ohio native was captain of the U.S. National Team Development Program team in 2010-11.

Biggs (6-foot-3, 210 pounds) was the No. 22 selection in the 2011 NHL Draft.
