Kings sign 1st-round pick Tanner Pearson to 3-year, entry-level deal

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings signed forward Tanner Pearson to a three-year, entry-level contract Friday.

Pearson, selected 30th overall in the June draft, had 37 goals and 54 assists in 60 regular-season games last season for the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League. He also had a goal and five assists in six games for Canada in the world junior championships.

Quote of the Day

I got a chance to play a thousand games and that's pretty special to me. To get a thousand [points], it's a great accomplishment. I'm not going to hide my feelings, I'm proud of that. To do it on a win, do it on a goal, I think it makes it special.
