Edmonton Oilers re-sign defenceman Theo Peckham to one-year contract

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oilers are bringing back defenceman Theo Peckham.

The 24-year-old signed a US$1.075-million, one-year deal with Edmonton on Monday after scoring a goal with two assists and 80 penalty minutes in 54 games last season.

Peckham has spent his entire five-year career with Edmonton.

The six-foot-two, 235-pound blue-liner has four goals, 13 assists and 382 penalty minutes in 156 career NHL games.

Peckham was drafted 75th overall by Edmonton in 2006.

Quote of the Day

He's, believe it or not, actually one of my favorite guys, and I've ended up trading him twice. I appreciate what he's done. He was one year away from being an unrestricted free agent, and I felt with this opportunity, that it was a chance that we were able to get somebody for him in Nick Bonino and Adam Clendening.
