Blues trade Crombeen to Lightning for picks
The Blues traded B.J. Crombeen and their fifth-round pick in the 2014 Draft to Tampa Bay for the Bolts' fourth-round picks in 2013 and 2014.

The St. Louis Blues on Tuesday traded forward B.J. Crombeen and their fifth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft to Tampa Bay in exchange for the Lightning's fourth-round picks in the 2013 and 2014 drafts.

Crombeen, 27, had a goal, two assists and 71 penalty minutes in 40 games last season.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound forward spent the past four seasons in St. Louis, totaling 26 goals, 23 assists and 515 penalty minutes in 265 games.

“I think it’s going to be a good fit,” Crombeen told the Lightning's website. “It’s no secret that I bring a physical element to the game, so I’m looking forward to contributing and providing the Lightning with what I do.”

Crombeen has appeared in 288 NHL games across five seasons with the Dallas Stars and St. Louis, totaling 27 goals, 29 assists and 580 penalty minutes.

"I would like to thank B.J. and his wife, Janet, for their time here in St. Louis," Blues general manager Doug Armstrong said. "B.J. gave us everything he had on the ice, and along with his wife, was very active in our community."

Quote of the Day

I don't know how he does it. I don't know how he gets his body parallel with the player and pulls it through his legs like that. I know he's tried it a couple times in practice and it's never worked, so how he does it in a game, it's incredible.
