Fayne out 3-4 months following wrist surgery
New Jersey Devils defenseman Mark Fayne could miss the start of the 2012-13 season after undergoing wrist surgery last Friday.

New Jersey Devils defenseman Mark Fayne could miss the start of the 2012-13 season after undergoing wrist surgery last Friday.

Fayne had the scapholunate ligament of his left wrist repaired, a procedure that is expected to sideline him for 3-4 months.

Fayne, one of three players the Devils tendered qualifying offers to Monday, had four goals and 17 points while playing all 82 regular-season games in his second NHL season. He added three assists in 24 playoff games.

The Devils also tendered qualifying offers to defenseman Matt Corrente and forward Vladimir Zharkov.
