Anaheim will receive a second-round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft for Visnovsky, who had six goals and 27 points in 68 games for the Ducks this past season. In 2010-11, he had 18 goals and 68 points -- the most in the NHL among defensemen.
Visnovsky, who turns 36 in August, will cost $5.6 million against the salary cap for the Islanders next season, though his 2012-13 salary is $3 million, according to CapGeek. A veteran defenseman was considered a top priority for the Islanders this offseason.
