Alyssa Milano taking over NHL's Twitter account
Alyssa Milano will take over the NHL's official Twitter account during Thursday night's Game 3 between the Kings and Coyotes.

The Los Angeles Kings have had no shortage of celebrities watching from the stands throughout their remarkable playoff run, but one celebrity who has been there since long before the playoffs began is season-ticket holder Alyssa Milano. The actress is a regular at Staples Center, and as the Kings look to take a 3-0 series lead against the Coyotes in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday (9 p.m. ET, NBCSN, TSN, RDS), hockey fans can get an inside look at Milano's take on the game as she becomes the first celebrity to take over the NHL's official Twitter account, @NHL.

"During #PhxLAK Game 3 tomorrow I will be taking over the @NHL twitter account. You heard me." Milano tweeted Wednesday from her personal account, @Alyssa_Milano.

Milano, whose 28-year acting career includes roles in television hits like "Who's the Boss?," "Melrose Place" and "Charmed," will be live-tweeting throughout the game from her seat in Staples Center, providing the point of view of a regular Kings fan. This is not the first time Milano has collaborated with the NHL -- she developed her NHL Touch by Alyssa Milano line of women's clothing featuring NHL team logos -- but it will be the first time any celebrity has taken over the NHL's official Twitter account.

Fans are encouraged to interact with Milano throughout the game and can ask her questions using the hashtag #AskAlyssa. In addition to having Milano run the NHL's Twitter account Thursday, the NHL has set up a board promoting the event on Pinterest at http://pinterest.com/thenhl/alyssa-milano-twitter-takeover-night/.

While this will be the NHL's first foray into turning over its Twitter account to a celebrity, it's likely it will be in good hands. Milano is very active on her personal Twitter account and already has experience writing for a professional sports league, having previously written a blog for MLB.com.

Milano will be starring in the upcoming ABC television drama series "Mistresses," which is scheduled to premiere in May 2013.

Quote of the Day

The groove of being behind a bench is going to be interesting at first, but thank God we have a few exhibition games to get rid of those cobwebs. Overall the excitement of it all and the freshness and coming back refreshed, all those things are going to be assets. If [the players] come ready to give their best effort in practice and games, good things are going to happen. I'm always looking for results. It's not always on the scoreboard. It's winning and building something.
