Coyotes' Hanzal limps off with injury
Center Martin Hanzal, who had the overtime game-winner in the Coyotes' 3-2 win in Game 1, limped off the ice on his third shift of the first period in Game 2.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- For the second time in two playoff games, the Coyotes have lost a member of their top line early in the first period.

Center Martin Hanzal, who had the overtime game-winner in the Coyotes' 3-2 win in Game 1, limped off the ice on his third shift of the first period in Game 2. The Coyotes said Hanzal is being evaluated.

The Coyotes lost leading goal-scorer Radim Vrbata a minute into Game 1 on Thursday; he did not return but was back in the lineup for Game 2.

Hanzal plays a variety of key roles for the Coyotes, from penalty-killing to faceoffs to defending the opposition's top line. Phoenix dressed an extra center, Kyle Chipchura, for Game 2 and will likely give Daymond Langkow more ice time to make up for Hanzal's loss.

Quote of the Day

Your team is going to want to recapture the feeling. What they're going to have to figure out is they're going to have to rewrite the story. Because you're going to rewrite the story doesn't mean you want a different end. It's just that you're going to have to learn that there's different challenges to get there, and if you're going to try and tap the same feeling, it ain't going to happen.
