After one round of voting, 32 players advanced in the first-ever fan-driven contest to pick the player that will appear on the cover of EA SPORTS NHL13 video game.
With more than 10 million votes cast so far, fans decided between a pair of players from each team to pick each teams' representative in the round of 32. Among those winning the head-to-head battles were 2011 Hart Trophy winner Corey Perry of the Anaheim Ducks, 2011 Calder Trophy winner Jeff Skinner of the Carolina Hurricanes, 2012 Rocket Richard winner Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and 2012 Art Ross Trophy winner Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Also advancing were two wild-card selections -- Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Hartnell and St. Louis Blues forward David Perron.
Voting for the round of 32 runs April 12-22, with the top 16 vote-getters advancing. Fans can vote at NHL.com/CoverVote, and they can show their support for their favorite player by using #NHL13Cover on Twitter.
The winner of the cover vote campaign will be unveiled at the 2012 NHL Awards show June 20 at the Wynn Las Vegas in Las Vegas.
