With the race to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the home stretch, the NBC Sports Network will air two games with major postseason implications on Wednesday night.
The doubleheader starts at 7:30 p.m. ET when the Detroit Red Wings, trying to hang onto fourth place in the West, visit Columbus in the second half of a home-and-home series. The Wings breezed to a 7-2 win at Joe Louis Arena on Monday to move past Nashville into the fourth spot, which would give them the extra home game in the opening round of the playoffs.
At 10 p.m. ET, San Jose visits Anaheim in the second half of the doubleheader. The Sharks come into the night on top in the Pacific Division after beating Colorado 5-1 on Monday.
Wednesday's action gets under way at 7 p.m. ET when the New York Rangers, 3-2 winners at Minnesota on Tuesday, visit Winnipeg in a game that can be seen in Canada on TSN and RDSI. The Jets lost 6-4 at home to Ottawa on Monday.
Both Alberta games are home for 9:30 p.m. ET starts in games that are vital in the Western Conference playoff race. Dallas, a 5-4 loser at Calgary on Monday, visits Edmonton. Calgary goes for back-to-back wins when Los Angeles comes to Scotiabank Saddledome after a 1-0 loss at Vancouver two nights earlier.
Vancouver is home again for a 10 p.m. ET meeting with Colorado -- a game the Avs desperately need to win to stay in the playoff hunt.
