Sabres' Christian Ehrhoff injured vs. Caps
Buffalo's blue line suffered a couple of blows in the first 30 minutes of Tuesday's game at Verizon Center against the Capitals.

WASHINGTON -- Buffalo's blue line suffered a potentially major blow early in Tuesday's 5-1 win against Washington on Tuesday.

Christian Ehrhoff left the game late in the first period after colliding knee-on-knee with Capitals forward Troy Brouwer. Ehrhoff was diagnosed with a lower-body injury and did not return.

He was noticeably limping as he left Verizon Center.

"We'll have our doctors evaluate him, but it looks like he's going to miss a little bit of time," Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said.

Asked if that means Ehrhoff will not play again in the regular season, Ruff was non-committal.

"Season-ending isn't a long time," he said, referring to the fact that the Sabres have only five games left. "It's something we'll get evaluated (Wednesday) to get a better idea."

Ehrhoff is one of the Sabres' power-play quarterbacks. He has 32 points and averages over 23 minutes of ice time per game. He missed 11 games earlier this season with an upper-body injury.
