Montreal Canadiens forward Erik Cole has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slew-footing Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jeff Petry in NHL Game No. 1008 in Edmonton on Thursday, March 8, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 11:48 of the second period. Cole was assessed a minor penalty for tripping.
