The Lightning need every point they can get, and they'll have to fight for their next ones against the Rangers on NHL Network on Friday.
The Tampa Bay Lightning need every point they can get as they try to scramble back into the top eight in the Eastern Conference. They'll face a big challenge on Friday night, when the Eastern Conference-leading New York Rangers come to town in one of six games on the NHL schedule.

The Rangers will be playing for the second time in as many days -- they come to Tampa after a 3-2 win at Carolina on Thursday. The Bolts have been off since beating Montreal 2-1 at home on Tuesday.

The NHL Network will air the game to viewers in the United States, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Friday's action begins a half-hour earlier with a pair of games. New Jersey tries to rebound after Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss at Boston when it visits Washington, which has been off since rallying for a 3-2 win against the Islanders on Tuesday. Also, Ottawa is home for a rare visit from Chicago in a game that Canadian viewers can see on TSN and RDS2.

Also at 7:30, Minnesota visits Detroit. The Wild got a point in Montreal on Thursday night by from a three-goal deficit in the final minutes of regulation but lost 5-4 in a shootout. Detroit will again be without captain Nicklas Lidstrom and star center Pavel Datsyuk, both of whom were sidelined for Tuesday's 5-2 win in Columbus.

Dallas, eighth in the West after a 4-3 shootout loss to Pittsburgh on Wednesday, visits Edmonton at 9:30 p.m. ET in a game that can be seen in Canada on TSN. In the final game on the schedule, Anaheim tries to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Buffalo on Wednesday when Calgary comes to the Honda Center for a 10 p.m. ET start.
