Maple Leafs waive forwards Darryl Boyce, Jay Rosehill ahead of deadline

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs placed forwards Darryl Boyce and Jay Rosehill on waivers Friday with an eye on creating some roster flexibility.

The team will have the option of sending both players to the American Hockey League if they go unclaimed.

Boyce started the season with the Marlies before getting called up to the Leafs in December, scoring one goal and two points in 17 NHL games.

Rosehill has been used sparingly despite spending the entire season in the NHL. He was pointless in 16 games.

Boyce is on a two-way contract that pays him $700,000 at the NHL level. Rosehill's one-way deal is worth $600,000 this season.
