Two teams struggling to get back into the top eight in the Eastern Conference, the Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals, will battle for a big two points in one of six games on Friday night's NHL schedule.
The NHL Network will air the game in the United States, beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Canadian viewers can watch the game on TSN and RDS.
Both teams are outside the top eight in the East and are trying to bounce back after losses. Montreal was beaten 3-0 at home by Dallas on Tuesday, while the Caps are back home after a 1-3-0 trip that ended with a 5-2 loss at Ottawa on Wednesday.
Three other games also start at 7. The New York Islanders host the New York Rangers, Vancouver tries to follow up on Thursday's emotional 4-3 shootout win in Detroit when it visits New Jersey, and Colorado travels to Columbus, which traded star center Jeff Carter to Los Angeles on Thursday.
A half-hour later, Boston visits Buffalo in a battle of teams coming of victories -- the Bruins won 4-2 at St. Louis on Wednesday; Buffalo has been off since beating the Islanders 2-1 on Tuesday.
In the final game of the night, Minnesota visits Dallas in a game that starts at 8:30 p.m. ET. Both teams won on the road Thursday: The Wild beat Florida 3-2 in a shootout, while the Stars won 3-1 at Chicago.
