The Washington Capitals' bid to get back into playoff position will be televised across the United States and Canada on Monday night.
Washington, which is just 3-5-2 over its last 10 games, will visit the Carolina Hurricanes at the RBC Center in a Southeast Division showdown. Opening faceoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on the NBC Sports Network in the U.S. and TSN2 in Canada.
The Caps (29-24-5) enter Monday's action in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, but can pull even with first-place Florida in the Southeast with a victory. They can also move one point ahead of eighth-place Toronto, which is idle Monday.
The only other game on Monday's schedule takes place at 1 p.m. ET, when the New York Islanders host the Ottawa Senators at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Ottawa (30-22-8) will be seeking its third straight win, while the Isles (25-25-8) have a chance to get over the .500 mark.
