Panthers' Versteeg fined $2,500
Panthers forward Kris Versteeg has been fined $2,500 for cross-checking Capitals forward Jeff Halpern.
Florida Panthers forward Kris Versteeg has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking Washington Capitals forward Jeff Halpern in NHL Game No. 861 on Friday, Feb. 17, in Sunrise, Fla., the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 19:57 of the third period. No penalty was assessed on the play.

The fine money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
