KENT, Wash. - Mac Engel made 18 saves to get his first shutout of the season and fifth of his career as the Spokane Chiefs downed the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-0 in Western Hockey League action Sunday.
The different Spokane (32-20-7) players scored — one in each period — to lift the Chiefs to victory.
Dominik Uher opened the scoring for the Chiefs with his 25th goal of the season. Collin Valcourt scored in the second, while Liam Stewart chipped in as well.
Calvin Pickard stopped 31 shots as Seattle (20-37-2) lost its third in a row.
Spokane ended a four-game losing streak and leads the season series with Seattle 5-1.
