PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Flyers, already missing top forwards Jaromir Jagr and James van Riemsdyk, lost two more forwards during Thursday's game against the Buffalo Sabres.
The Flyers announced during the second period Briere had suffered an upper-body injury in the first period and Tom Sestito suffered a lower-body injury in the second.
Briere played seven shifts totaling 3:53 in the first period, with his last shift ending with 30 seconds left in the first.
Briere has 13 goals and 19 assists in 47 games this season. He missed six games from Jan. 22 to Feb. 5 with a concussion.
Sestito played one shift in the second period, which ended with a fight with the Sabres' Zack Kassian.
Sestito has one assist and 83 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Flyers.
Jagr sat out Thursday's game with the flu, while van Riemsdyk hasn't played since Jan. 14 due to a concussion.
