Flyers acquire D Grossman from Dallas

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenseman Nicklas Grossman from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a 2012 second-round pick and a 2013 third-round pick.

The Flyers announced the trade before Thursday's game against Buffalo. Grossman, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound defenseman, has five assists in 52 games this season. He has three goals and 41 points in 333 career NHL games.

Grossman is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Quote of the Day

You know what? We've played in some pretty special buildings along this playoff run so far. You start in Detroit, you go to Montreal, you come here … I think it's the first team to beat three Original Six teams to get to the Final if I'm not mistaken. That says how tough the road has been. Those are tough places to win.
