Brent Benson scores winning goal in shootout, Blades beat Broncos 4-3

SASKATOON - Brent Benson scored the shootout winner as the Saskatoon Blades beat the Swift Current Broncos 4-3 in Western Hockey League action Wednesday.

Connor Cox, Michael Burns and Matej Stransky, with his 29th of the season, scored in regulation for the Blades (33-20-1), who trailed 2-0 after the first period.

Rookie Coda Gordon scored his 21st of the season for Swift Current (20-29-6) on a power play. Brad Hoban and Levi Bews also scored.

Andrey Makarov stopped 31 shots for Saskatoon.

Austin Smith made 41 saves for Swift Current.
