SPOKANE, Wash. - Mike Aviani's goal capped Spokane's victory as the Chiefs downed the Seattle Thunderbirds 7-3 on Monday in Western Hockey League play.
Aviani scored for Spokane (30-16-7) with 3:23 left in the game, adding to his two assists from earlier in the night. Captain Darren Kramer and Blake Gal both had a goal and an assist for the Chiefs, while Connor Chartier, Marek Kalus, Brenden Kichton and Davis Vandane rounded out the scoring.
Justin Hickman, Connor Honey and Brendan Rouse supplied the offence for Seattle (18-32-2).
Eric Williams made 31 saves for the win, while Calvin Pickard stopped 28 shots for the Thunderbirds.
Spokane was 2-for-4 on the power play, while Seattle couldn't score on six man advantages.
Kalus scored the winner for the Chiefs 1:44 into the third period.
Hickman replied for the Thunderbirds before Spokane reeled off three unanswered goals to put the game out of reach.
