OHL Roundup: A look at Saturday's games

Taking penalties against the league's top-ranked power play will always come back to hurt you.

The Niagara IceDogs scored four times with the man advantage as they defeated the visiting Brampton Battalion 5-2 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Despite having the second best penalty kill in the OHL, Brampton gave up power-play goals to Alex Friesen, Steven Shipley, Brett Ritchie, and Freddie Hamilton.

David Pacan also scored for the IceDogs (32-15-3), who now have a four-point lead over Brampton for top spot in the Central Division.

Derek Froats and Brenden Miller each scored for the Battalion (27-15-9), who have now dropped three straight games.

Mark Visentin picked up the win, making 31 saves, to improve to 9-0-0 since returning from the World Junior Hockey Championship.

Matej Machovsky was pulled midway through the third period after allowing four goals on 26 shots.

Keegan Wilson allowed one goal on five shots in relief.

Brampton failed to score on four opportunties with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Kingston 4, Ottawa 3; Saginaw 3, Erie 0; London 5, Mississauga 2; Sudbury 8, Peterborough 4; Plymouth 5, Windsor 1; Barrie 5, Sault Ste. Marie 0 and Owen Sound 2, Belleville 1.

At St. Catharines, Ont., Shipley scored the only goal of the first period and it came on the power play at 4:05.
