CHICAGO – The sun-soaked Florida Panthers were given a bad time to visit the Windy City.

Friday night’s game between the Panthers and Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center was pushed back from a 7:30 p.m. CT start to 8 p.m. because of a snowstorm that hit Chicago mid-morning and continued into the evening. The storm is expected to drop as much as eight inches before heading toward the East Coast.

Less than an hour before the originally scheduled start of the game, the Panthers’ bus hadn’t arrived at the arena and only a couple of Florida players had made it after taking cabs.

Florida also has a game in Winnipeg on Saturday, while the Blackhawks are scheduled to play in Nashville Saturday night. Travel plans to each location for each team are not known at this point.
