All-USA Hockey Prospects Game in the works
USA Hockey will host the All-American Hockey Prospects Game, an event that will feature some of the best U.S. players for the 2013 NHL Draft.
In an effort to further promote the top American-born, draft-eligible hockey players competing throughout North America, USA Hockey is planning an inaugural USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game in the fall.

The game likely would take place Sept. 28 and would include 40 of the top 18-year-old U.S.-born players eligible for the 2013 NHL Draft. The game has been recognized as part of the USA Hockey Olympic development program and player evaluation process.

Prospects will come from the United States Hockey League, including the U.S. National Team Development Program, and Canadian Hockey League as well as U.S. high schools, prep schools and NCAA programs.

A USA Hockey spokesman told NHL.com that requests for proposals from interested cities and venues were released on Friday. USA Hockey intends to select the host site by Feb. 24 with a national announcement to follow in March.
