Anderson, Stalberg and Malkin all named NHL's three stars of the week

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson and forwards Viktor Stalberg of the Chicago Blackhawks and Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins were named the NHL's three stars of the week Monday.

Anderson earned first star honours after posting a 3-0-0 record, 0.98 goals-against average, .970 save percentage and one shutout for Ottawa. Anderson, who was the third star last week, currently has a 23-12-4 record with 2.96 GAA, .907 save percentage and shutout in 41 appearances this season.

Stalberg was named the second star after registering five goals and an assist in helping Chicago earn seven of eight points and move atop the Western Conference standings. Stalberg has already posted single-season career highs in goals (14) assists (14) and points (28).

Malkin posted a league-high seven points last week (five goals, two assists) as Pittsburgh won twice in four starts. Malkin is second overall in scoring with 51 points (21 goals, 30 assists) in 37 games.

Quote of the Day

That was something I've been dreaming of, something I've told myself before the third period I was going to do ... It was an amazing feeling. It's hard to describe. I didn't believe it went in at first but when I saw all the reaction and all the fans going crazy and my teammates going crazy, it's just an unbelievable feeling. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know whether to jump or just skate and do a Theo Fleury. I don't think I'm the same caliber player he is so I couldn't do it.
