KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Colin Smith scored two goals Wednesday night to lead the Kamloops Blazers to a 3-2 Western Hockey League victory over the Tri-City Americans.
Jesse Mychan and Jordan Messier replied for the Americans (32-8-0).
Kamloops goaltender Cole Cheveldave made 30 saves, while Ty Rimmer of the Americans turned aside 25 shots.
The Blazers lead the B.C. Division and now are just three points behind the Western Conference-leading Americans, who had a 13-game winning streak snapped.
